Colorblock Scarf Knitting Pattern

I love this scarf because it has the fringe at the end and also is warm for going out in the cold and the snow. It also looks great!

The scarf knitting pattern is actually simple to make and just follows a simple knit-purl pattern. The fringe and stripes make it look a bit more sophisticated.

I enjoy knitting anytime in the year because I feel the need to keep my hands busy. I encourage you to try knitting if you have not before because it is an enjoyable activity!

Materials:

  • 3 colors of yarn (I used Red Heart® Super Saver® yarn in light grey, dark grey, and creme)
  • yarn weight 4 (medium)
  • US size 10 needles
  • scissors

Finished Measurements:

62 inches long

Pattern:

CO 46 stitches.

Knit/purl alternating 10 rows of color 1 (light grey).

Switch to color 2 and knit/purl alternating 6 rows (creme).

Switch to color 3 and knit/purl alternating 10 rows (dark grey).

Switch back to color 2 and knit/ purl alternating 6 rows (creme).

Repeat this pattern until you reach the length provided.

When you finish, make sure that the color you last finished with was color 1 so that both ends of the scarf look the same.

Bind off; weave in all the ends.

The Fringe

Cut 30 strands of the yarn of each of the three colors, all even lengths.

Fold one in half and slip the loop through one of the end stitches, then pull tight.

Image shows how to tie the loop described above at the bottom of the scarf.

Repeat with every stitch across both scarf ends, alternating colors the same way that you did when knitting the scarf (color 1, color 2, color 3, color 2…)

Now you are finished! Enjoy! Comment below if you made it or have any questions.
