Knitted Rose Clips- Free Pattern

I love these flower clips because they are so fun to make, they are fun to wear, and can be easily made with any color of yarn.

What You Need

  • Any kind of yarn (size 4 and up)
  • size 7 or 8 needles (either work fine for me)
  • tapestry needle
  • hot glue gun and hot glue sticks
  • felt (darker colors seem to look nicer)
  • prong curl clips

Rose

  • cast on 10 (or more) stiches
  • Row 1: knit.
  • Row 2: Purl, and on all even rows.
  • Row 3: k1f&b on all stiches – 20 stiches
  • Row 5: k1f&b on all stiches – 40 stiches
  • Row 7: k1f&b on all stiches – 80 stiches
  • Row 8: purl.
  • bind off.

Shape Your Flower

  • Twist the rose in a spiral to form a flower shape, then sew in place from the back using the tapestry needle, up and down until you feel it is secure.

Glue on the back and the clip

  • Cut a circle out from your felt that is is about 1/2 in. smaller around than your flower
  • glue it on with the hot glue gun
  • open up the prong curl clip, then glue a smaller piece of felt on top of the inside of the clip
  • then, glue it on to the back of the flower.
  • let it dry, then you’re done!
